JD Helms Bio
John David (JD) Helms
John David (JD) Helms is the President of CloudJumper and he sets the company’s market vision and strategy. JD’s career started on the IT side of the construction industry. In the early 2000’s he built a regional MSP in North Carolina, ultimately selling that business to MindShift in 2009. In 2010 JD joined CIS Consulting Group, a leading Sage Timberline reseller. When that company was acquired by Viewpoint Construction Software in early 2011 JD ended up working in and ultimately leading their Cloud Practice. Through this experience JD developed a passion for End User Computing (EUC) and Cloud Workspaces. That exposed him to Citrix and Independence IT (later acquired by CloudJumper) and in late 2013 JD came to work for CloudJumper (fka nGenx) first as a Vice President of MSP & ISV Channels before quickly assuming the role of President. Since taking the helm, JD has steadily guided CloudJumper through a rapid evolution from 2013 Citrix Visionary Partner of the Year to a 100% Microsoft/RDS practice. He managed the acquisition and integration of Independence IT, ultimately adding the RDS & WVD management platform know as Cloud Workspace Management Suite (CWMS). JD holds a degree from North Carolina State University in Business Administration and is a graduate of the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (US Navy). JD lives near our headquarters in the Raleigh, NC area with his family. In his personal time, he is very involved in youth soccer and loves getting out on his boat for offshore fishing (with access to his Cloud Workspace at a moment’s notice… of course).
